Overview:

George B. Greaves was one of the founding members of the International Society for the Study of Multiple Personality & Dissociation (ISSMPD) which later became the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD). He closely worked with Richard P. Kluft by contributing and editing his articles and publications. In addition, he contributed to and sponsored the ISSTD journal named DISSOCIATION. Greaves was closely knitted to ISSTD but then dedicated his time and efforts to the Ridgeview Institute as Program Director.

His tenure as a psychologist met a swift and decisive end after the state of Georgia revoked his license in 1994. "According to the complaint file, he 'hypnotized the patient on numerous occasions during therapy sessions and while the patient was under hypnosis, would masturbate himself or engage in acts of sexual intercourse and fellatio with her.'" (Mark Pendergrast, The Repressed Memory Epidemic, p 387).
